TRIP OVERVIEW
Mount Cho Oyu expedition is also one of the famous expedition in the world. Mt. Cho Oyu, at 8201 meters is the sixth highest mountain in the world. Mount Cho Oyu Expedition was first succeed by an Austrian expedition team in 1954. The mountain is one of the easier eight thousanders to climb because of its uncomplicated terrain. In fact this peak is climbed by mountaineers to experience high altitude climbing before they attempt Mount Everest. Mt Cho Oyu lies only 20 km from Everest between Nepal and China’s border. The mountain is also known as Turquoise Goddess among Tibetans. Mt Cho Oyu expedition was first organized and financed by Joint Himalayan Committee.
Mount Cho Oyu expedition will start after you fly to Lhasa from Kathmandu. From Lhasa you’ll drive and then hike across a realm of glaciers, looked upon by towering peaks, before you arrive at the first base camp. There’ll be three more camps and a final Advanced Base camp before you attempt to scale the summit of Cho Oyu.
It was often the mountaineers themselves who came up with measurements of mountains that decided the height of many of the peaks in the Himalaya. Thus it was Dyhrenfurth and Shipton who measured Cho Oyu which led to declaring this peak as the sixth highest in the world. Ang Phri Sherpa became the first Nepali national to summit Cho Oyu on 29th April 1987.

Arrival in Kathmandu.

Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m).
At leisure in Lhasa.
Drive to Shigatse (6 hours).
Drive to Xegar (8 hours).
Rest day for acclimatization.
Arrival at Chinese Base Camp.
Preparation at Chinese Base Camp.
Trek to Cho Oyu base camp
Climbing Period.
Return to Lhasa.
Fly back to Kathmandu.
Departure to your destination.
